Commitment to green and sustainable finance
The Hong Kong Pilot Green and Sustainable Finance Capacity Building Support Scheme supports talent development in green and sustainable finance by providing subsidies for university students and market practitioners to upskill their knowledge. CFA Institute Certificate in ESG Investing, Climate Risk, Valuation, and Investing Certificate, and Climate Finance (online course) are eligible under the Scheme.

The Certificate in ESG Investing builds foundational knowledge and an understanding of the issues across sustainability topics. It is designed for investment practitioners who want to learn how to analyze and integrate material ESG factors into their work. This certificate is offered in most countries, but not all – please review the certificate availability before registering. |
The Climate Risk, Valuation, and Investing Certificate is a more advanced certificate. It develops the knowledge and practical skills needed to apply climate-considerations into valuation and portfolio construction, and is designed for analysts and portfolio managers. |

Amount of reimbursement |
After completing an eligible certificate or course, applicants can apply for a subsidy of up to 80% of the relevant fees, while full-time student applicants can apply for a subsidy of up to 100% of the relevant fees, subject to a ceiling HKD 10,000. |
Key steps and details |
Applicant shall create a personal account on the Scheme website and submit a completed application form with all required supporting documents via the account. Applications should be completed within three months after successful certificate or course completion. For reimbursement for the Certificate in ESG Investing, please submit the proof of completion document from test administrator Prometric.
